VMS Affected by Malware Attack
Malware attacks from abroad are affecting an increasing number of hospitals, municipalities and counties across the nation—including Orange County. Unfortunately, VMS experienced a malware incident that had affected company telephone service, email access and computer operations.
The Village financial system and other resident-facing systems are not impacted and remain functional; Recreation reservations, gate clearance and the resident portal all are working normally. Email and telephone operations also have been restored. The maintenance scheduling system and other employee-facing tools are impacted and not functional.
Company IT professionals are working around the clock to restore all systems as soon as possible.
This incident has resulted in delays and challenges that understandably are frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve these issues.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes and hope to have all systems restored and fully functional quickly.
VMS will provide additional updates in the November 6 “What’s Up in the Village,” and VMS CEO Jeff Parker will provide updates via TV6 next week, as well.
