Movies at the Village 'Drive-in'
The Department of Recreation and Special Events is coordinating drive-in movies on Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, at 8 p.m. at the Village Maintenance Center at 23081 Via Campo Verde. The events are sponsored by the Village Community Fund (VCF), a nonprofit organization that sponsors various events and programs to support the residents of Laguna Woods Village.
Friday night’s feature will be “Call of the Wild,” and Saturday night’s feature will be “Yesterday.”
The entry fee of $10 per car provides a small offset to the total costs of rental of portable restrooms, washing stations, staff working the event and miscellaneous supplies. VCF is covering the set up and rental expenses, which are $1,500 per night.
To purchase a ticket, call 949-597-4282 between noon and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ticket sales are by phone and credit card only; no tickets will be sold on the event days. Limit one movie per manor, please.
Cars may start arriving at 7:30 p.m. Parking is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. No golf carts. Restrooms will be available. All attendees must remain in their cars except when visiting the restroom. No food or drinks will be available, but residents are welcome to bring their own.
